The Venue
Flyover Con takes place inside P&M Apparel’s production facility, built in 2020 and intentionally designed to bring people, process, and production together in one open, transparent space.
With more than 8,000 square feet, the shop houses all sales, production, and fulfillment operations under one roof. The space includes multiple Anatol automatic presses, an Anatol manual press, a custom-built live screen printing press, an Anatol gas dryer, a Douthitt CTS, a Workhorse LED exposure table, ZSK and Barudan embroidery machines, Stahls Hotronix and MEM heat presses, and in-house digital and prototyping equipment. Every piece of equipment is visible, accessible, and actively used during the event.
Flyover Con does not happen on a stage or inside a conference hall. The event is embedded directly into the shop floor. Attendees walk the same paths as the production team, stand next to presses, watch garments move through the process, and experience how the shop operates from end to end. While client production pauses for the event, the space comes alive with live demonstrations and hands-on sessions across all decorating methods.
The building itself was designed with customer experience and visibility in mind. It is open, clean, and intentionally laid out to encourage conversation and curiosity. Departments are visible from one another, workflows are easy to follow, and attendees are encouraged to stop, ask questions, and dig into the details. It feels like a working shop because it is one.
Hosting Flyover Con in our own space is intentional. It reflects a commitment to transparency and a willingness to open the doors fully, even to potential competitors. The goal is not to present perfection, but to share real systems, real decisions, and real lessons learned. What works for us, what does not, and why.
The shop is located along a well-traveled highway in Polk City, Iowa, making it accessible and connected to the surrounding community rather than tucked away in an industrial park. It represents how modern print shops can be visible, welcoming, and integrated into the places they serve.
Flyover Con is built around practical, implementable learning. Hosting it in the middle of production reinforces that philosophy. Attendees do not just hear about processes. They see them, question them, and leave with ideas they can take back to their own shops.
